What is a Steel structure?
2026-04-13
Steel structures are frameworks made of fabricated steel components designed to carry loads and provide rigidity to buildings and infrastructure. Unlike traditional concrete or timber construction, steel offers superior strength-to-weight ratios, faster assembly times, and full recyclability. As global demand for sustainable and resilient infrastructure rises, engineers are increasingly turning to steel to achieve ambitious architectural designs and meet stringent environmental targets.
Steel Struts: Securing the Bottom Line of Engineering Safety, Technology Innovation Drives Upgrade of a Billion-Dollar Market
2026-04-13
Steel struts are easy to install, quick to remove, and recyclable. They support deep excavations, subway tunnels, and bridges. Thanks to new technologies and China’s dual‑carbon policies, the steel strut market is growing steadily. It is expected to reach 118 billion RMB in 2025 and exceed 175 billion RMB by 2030. Moving from traditional shoring to smart monitoring, steel struts are driving safer and more efficient engineering through innovation.
Steel Components for Serbia’s National Football Stadium Shipped from China, with Strict Precision Control to Eurocode EXC4 Grade
2026-04-13
Belgrade, Serbia – A key supporting facility for the 2027 Specialised Expo, the Serbia National Football Stadium has hit a new construction milestone. The first 1,340 tonnes of steel components were shipped from China in April 2025, with the project’s total steel usage reaching around 12,600 tonnes. Built to the EN 1090-2 Eurocode and top EXC4 execution class, its main structure features a 64.4-metre roof cantilever span.
London’s EDGE Office Building Adopts Steel-Timber Hybrid Structure with 23 Tonnes of Recycled Steel
2026-04-13
EDGE London Bridge, an office building located south of London Bridge Station, has recently completed its main structure construction. The project employs a hybrid structural system of steel, concrete, and timber. Of the approximately 1,300 ton of steel structure used, 23 ton consist of recycled steel. The ‘Play Zone’ on the eastern side of the building innovatively uses steel beams to support cross-laminated timber (CLT) floors, making it the tallest building in the UK to adopt this system.
